Programmes and Courses

  1. Doctoral Programmes
    1. Vidya Varidhi (Doctor of Philosophy) in Bhot Bauddha Darshan
    2. Vidya Visharad (Master in Philosophy) in Bhot Bauddha Darshan
      Doctoral Courses in other subjects offered at Post Graduate Level shall be started as per requirement and feasibility.

  2. Post Graduate Programme
    1. Acharya in Bhot Bouddh Darshan
    2. Acharya in Sanskrit Boudh Darshan
    3. Acharya in Bhoti Language and Literature
    4. Acharya in Pali
    5. Acharya in Bouddh Itihas

      Post Graduate (Acharya) Courses in other subjects offered at Post Graduate Level shall be started as per requirement and feasibility.

  3. Degree Courses
    1. Shastri with Bhot Bauddha Darshan and English / Hindi as compulsory components.
    2. Shastri with Pali/Theravada and English / Hindi as compulsory components.
    3. Shastri with Bhot Bauddha Nyaya and English / Hindi as compulsory components.
    4. Shastri with Himalayan Ayurveda (Sowa Rigpa) and English / Hindi as compulsory components.
    5. Shastri with Himalayan Jyotisha and English / Hindi as compulsory components.
    6. Shastri with Himalayan Performing Arts and English / Hindi as compulsory components.
    7. Shastri with Himalayan Arts & Crafts and English / Hindi as compulsory components.
    8. Shiksha Shastri (B.Ed.)

      Degree (Shastri) Courses in other subjects offered at Post Graduate Level shall be started as per requirement and feasibility.


  4. Post Graduate Diploma, Diploma & Certificate Courses

    5. Post Graduate Diploma, Diploma and Certificate Courses in Computer Applications, Himalayan Fine Arts, Himalayan Crafts, Himalayan Sculpture, Himalayan Performing Arts, Traditional Physiotherapy/Panch Karma and Himalayan Cultural Tourism shall be started as per requirement and feasibility.

  5. Secondary and Post-Secondary Courses:
    1. Purva Madhyama (Secondary Level)
    2. Uttar Madhyama (Higher Secondary Level)

  6. Courses in Feeder Schools:
    1. Prathmik (Primary Courses up to Class V)
    2. Prathama (Middle Level, Class VI-VIII)

  7. Further addition of courses shall be made in various programmes as mentioned in aforesaid clauses as per the requirements of the Indian Himalayan regions from time to time.



  8. Duration of Programmes/Courses and Award of Degrees / Diplomas / Certificates

    1. The duration of Vidya Varidhi (Ph.D.) shall not be less than two years with a maximum limit of four years, subject to the prescriptions/directions of the University Grants Commission, New Delhi issued from time to time.


    2. The Vidya Visharad (M. Phil.) shall be of two years, subject to the prescriptions/directions of the University Grants Commission, New Delhi issued from time to time.


    3. Acharya (Post Graduate) programmes shall be of two years duration.

      4. Provided that the Post Graduation in Himalayan Ayurveda (Sowa Rigpa) shall be of three years including one year of associateship.

    4. Shastri (Under Graduate Course) shall be of three years duration.

      5. Provided that the Shiksha Shastri (B.Ed.) course shall be of two year duration.

    5. P. G. Diploma and Diploma Courses shall be of one and two years respectively and the Certificate Courses shall be of six months duration.


    6. The Courses from Primary to Post Secondary level shall be of the same duration as prescribed by the National Policy of Education, 1986 i.e. 10 plus 2 system of schooling.


    7. The Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates shall be awarded to the Students/Research Scholars after successful completion of the prescribed courses and passing out the prescribed examinations at different level of studies.


      8. Provided that the Honorary Degrees shall be conferred upon the eminent scholars/personalities without undergoing the courses prescribed for the degrees.
